Paracetamol is mainly used for fever, headache and relief of mild and moderate pain caused by cold, such as joint pain, muscle pain, neuralgia, migraine, dysmenorrhea, cancer pain and postoperative analgesia. Paracetamol can also be used in patients who are too sensitive to aspirin, intolerant or unsuitable for aspirin use: such as chickenpox, hemophilia and other bleeding disorders (including patients receiving anticoagulant therapy), and patients with mild peptic ulcer and gastritis.

It works by acting on the hypothalamic temperature regulation center, dilating peripheral blood vessels, increasing blood flow and sweating, thereby achieving a fever-reducing effect.
It primarily works by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins, reducing the sensitivity of peripheral nerve endings, thereby relieving mild to moderate pain.
