In 2016, global demand was about 6.1 million tons, and consumption was concentrated in Asia, Europe and the Americas. The apparent consumption of domestic titanium dioxide increased from 770,000 tons in 2005 to 2.48 million tons in 2016, corresponding to a CAGR of 11.2%; the output increased from 700,000 tons to 2.6 million tons in the same period, corresponding to a GAGR of approximately 12.7% in 2016.
